Odes: meadowhawk sp. (Ian Davies pointed out the two dragonfly photos I attached last week were both of some kind of meadowhawk. The male is red.)

No snakes or spiders today.

The real action was on Winthrop Beach earlier in the day. Around 11 I dropped by for a quick look and ended up staying around, looking at shorebirds for 3 hours. The highlight was a Marbled Godwit. There was a Baird's around as well. With the Western, White-rumped, Least and Semi, that makes for a 5-peep day. And, oh yes, a pair of Caspian Terns also flew by.
