Double-crested Cormorant 5 Great Egret 6 Snowy Egret 2 Greater Yellowlegs 2 Lesser Yellowlegs 1 Stilt Sandpiper 2 Rock Pigeon 1 Mourning Dove 1 Belted Kingfisher 1 Rusty Blackbird 1 Odes: meadowhawk sp. (Ian Davies pointed out the two dragonfly photos I attached last week were both of some kind of meadowhawk. The male is red.) Leps: Cabbage white, Clouded sulphur, Monarch No snakes or spiders today. The real action was on Winthrop Beach earlier in the day. Around 11 I dropped by for a quick look and ended up staying around, looking at shorebirds for 3 hours. The highlight was a Marbled Godwit. There was a Baird's around as well. With the Western, White-rumped, Least and Semi, that makes for a 5-peep day. And, oh yes, a pair of Caspian Terns also flew by.
