Happy 20th ~ September 30, 2006

Thanks to Governor Dukakis and everyone who came to the party!

The Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Dedication of the Park was a big success.

Thanks to former MDC Commission Bill Geary, former Secretary of Transportation Fred Salvucci, and former Massport Board member John Vitagliano for coming.  They all played major roles

in the acquisition of the site and the designation of Belle Isle Reservation as a wildlife habitat,

not a deep water oil facility.  Thanks to everyone who came to the party!  If you have photos

for this website,  email them to  friendsofbelleislemarsh@comcast.net .

Special thanks to our sponsors and generous donors of their services:  Joe Aiello of AE Com, The East Boston Foundation, East Boston Savings Bank, Sandy Jonek Schiff for her beautiful flags and banners, Lightning Express, General Contractor John Marcy, Jack Markley,

and Gina Rafferty of IMG Gallery in Winthrop
